Freelance Product Content Writer

Job Overview

BrandJump’s Freelance Product Content Writers craft original product descriptions that tell the stories of our brand clients and their products across retailer websites. The freelance team works in close collaboration with and reports to the Marketing Specialist.

Projects are assigned by the Marketing Specialist and accepted by the Writer on a weekly basis and typically require a one- to two-week turnaround. Freelance writers are expected to complete assignments in full by the established deadline.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Write engaging, SEO-rich product descriptions with prescribed editorial and formatting guidelines

  • Communicate with the Marketing Specialist on assignment-related expectations

  • Ensure copy is 100% original and proofread for errors

  • Submit completed work via email within the agreed upon timeframe

  • Complete a BrandJump invoice to receive payment

Skills, Qualifications & Expertise

  • 2-3 years experience writing product copy in B2C marketing/ecommerce role

  • Ability to write accurate, ecommerce product descriptions in a timely manner and meet deadlines

  • Ability to write in a variety of styles/voices appropriate to the brand or assignment

  • A basic to intermediate level of SEO understanding to use keywords to help optimize content and improve rankings and visibility

  • Experience in fast-paced, deadline-oriented role

  • Creative writing experience is a plus

Working Conditions

  • This is a contract role

  • Rate for each assignment depends on the project type and number of product descriptions in each
